Cute Disney Trip Buys!

We just got back from a week at Disney - it was truly magical! Before we went, I loaded up on some great treats and accessories so we could save a little at the park or have something extra unique. Here were some of my favorite buys and why!

1. Lilo and Stitch Backpack ~ $12 plus shipping and handling, eBay

This was definitely my best value purchase. I bought this a couple weeks before our trip to carry all our stuff while we were inside the parks. It was the perfect size and SO CUTE! So many people approached me and asked me where I found it. Also, there is no way you would find a Disney-themed backpack of this size anywhere at the resorts at even twice the price I got it for! The only downside was the zipper did break on the main opening of the pack about three days in to our trip. Luckily, my boyfriend Will is super handy and managed to fix it pretty quickly. Besides the minor break this was a GREAT BUY!

2. Personalized Birthday Mickey Mouse Ears, ~$30, Etsy

For my boyfriend's birthday, I ordered a pair of customized birthday Mickey Mouse ears. They were a hit - he got extra attention for his birthday when he wore the bright yellow hat versus just the birthday pin the parks hand out (don't get me wrong - you still get plenty of attention with the pin :) ). This shop on Etsy did a beautiful job personalizing his ears. It doesn't look like they have any birthday-specific ears at the moment, but I would highly recommend their other ears. Hopefully they will have more birthday ears soon, because the ears definitely made his birthday so much more special!

3. Matching Disney Shirts ~ Varying Prices, Etsy

For each day at the park, we bought cute matching t-shirts to reflect that specific park:
Magic Kingdom - hipster Mickey & Minnie and "Best Day Ever" shirts
Animal Kingdom - Hakuna Matata shirts
Epcot - Mickey hands holding beer and wine shirts
Hollywood Studios - R2D2 and BB8 shirts
They made each day extra exciting, because we knew we got to wake up and wear a cool new shirt! Also getting dressed was SO easy, because what we were going to wear had been planned out wayyyyy in advance. Finally, pictures are easy to identify in terms of the day based on what we are wearing.

4. Memory Maker ~ $169 in advance, Disney

Definitely glad we purchased this in advance to save the $30 extra it would cost at the resort. The Memory Maker package made life way easier in terms of capturing our adventures, especially since there were only two of us. How it works is whenever you see a Disney cast member with a vest that says PhotoPass and a camera, you can ask them to take your picture. They then scan your magic band and the photos show up almost immediately onto your Disney app. It also gives you access to ride photos! This way we didn't have to awkwardly ask someone to take our phone and take a photo every time we wanted a picture of the two of us (or just have 100 selfies from our trip). I did struggle to download the photos after the trip, but that is mostly because I'm not very tech-savvy. Downloading all the photos at once does require understanding zip files and yada yada yada, but it was definitely worth every last cent!

I'll be back soon with more tales from the happiest place on Earth!
